Sherm Update
During the last couple of months we have been working on a number of improvements in Sherm that I have detailed below. A major improvement has been to enable the functionality of making certain documentation “Private” so that only certain people can access. This has been detailed below on what is required to use this function. If you have any issues, then please don’t hesitate to contact me.
The improvements in Sherm were uploaded to our production server last night, so these are now available to you. Please communicate relevant changes to your employees. Enjoy!
Christmas Break
The Safety for Life Brisbane Office will be mobile from Monday 22nd December through to the 16th January. This means that I am out and about with family and friends for the festive season. Development work will still be in full swing but my presence is not within the office. Should you require support then continue to forward through your requests via email during this time and I will respond as per usual. If you require phone support, then you can still call 07 3396 6208 as this number will be diverted to my mobile phone.
New Improvements
Ok here we go!
Restricted Documentation
There is now the ability to make documentation “Private”. That is, only certain persons will be able to undertake the Review Process and have access in Approved Documents post approval.
If you are choosing to use this feature, then please do the following:
Documentation > Document Handlers: *Restricted Documents: Please select the persons who you would like to be able to access private documents. You will need to make sure that these users are also selected as *Reviewers. SAVE CHANGES.
Now when you go to upload a document in the Document Register and you wan this document to be ‘Private’, then select the checkbox “Private” (see below).
The rest of the Review and Approve process works as normal.
Upon Approval of the Private Document, then only those selected in *Restricted Documents will receive an email notification.
The document will still display in the Approved Documents page, however there will only be a View Button for unauthorised persons. The View and Download button will display to selected persons listed in *Restricted Documents.
Document Template Export
Documentation > Document Templates now has an Export button so that you can have a listing of all documentation available to you from within the Sherm software application.
Users Editing Profile
When a user edits their profile, either from the Mobile Phone App or Sherm main application, the users *Reporting To person will receive an email notification.
Manage Risk Hazards
When adding hazard, user cannot select a date greater than current date.
The listing page of hazards now defaults by the most current date for which a hazard was reported.
All columns can be sorted with the exception of Title.
Injury Management Rehabilitation Plan
The “Goal of Plan” has been included to align with requirements for the development of suitable duties / injury management plans.
For those who have used this feature for employee’s injury management, then the default goal will be displayed as “return worker to pre-injury duties”.
Manage Meeting Schedule
To assist with sorting meetings, we have included Filters for Month and Year.
When Filters are selected they will stay until cleared.
Reminders for Meetings
Date formatting has been fixed to dd/mm/yyyy
Safety Performance Target for LTIFR and SIFR
In the View Display of Planning > Safety Performance the last two rows calculate the LTIFR and SIFR.
You can now put in your targets for both LTIFR and SIFR.
The application was incorrectly adding up the figures in each column to give a total. This has now be fixed and removed.
As the LTIFR and SIFR are both based upon a rolling 12 month trend, the value of interest to you will be in the current month only.
Remember for this function to work, you need to ensure that that Employee Work Hours are input each month. This is done from People > Human Resources > Manage Employee page. See down the bottom of the screen “Employee Work Hours”.
Reports > Inspections
Sherm enables you to reschedule Workplace Inspections so that they can be reoccurring based upon the frequency that you have selected in the Inspection Masters. A client request was that the Workplace Inspection Report could show when future inspections are due. Our application cannot do predictive dates based upon the frequency selected as the report is based upon the data that is registered. So as a result we have improved the Workplace Inspection Report, which now includes:
- Frequency
- Auto Reschedule
- Due Date
- Rescheduled Date
What’s Next on the Schedule?
Release 8 is now in full swing and includes the following:
- Reports > Users: Including Email filter and an Email column both in the Screen and Print Report
- Report > Skills Matrix: Include Site and Department Filters
- Report > Skill Matrix: Description to display in Print Report after Licence/Certificate Name.
- Manage Employee > Licences and Certificates: Ability to Edit the Issue Date
- Ability to Delete the following (ONLY by System Admin): Hazard, Incident and Issue Reports.
- Create Report for Days Lost
- Users with View Rights only for modules, Risk, Incident and Issue will be able to attached documents and this includes same function in the Mobile Phone App.
- Meeting times seem to be playing up again across time zones and daylight savings so we are looking into this.
Righto that is all from me for now.
Enjoy the coming week and will communicate with you again closer to Christmas.
Thanks again to everyone for their input into Sherm development and improvements.
Kind Regards
Caroline Kingston
