July to October 2019

Hiya! 😊

Trust all is going well. Apologies for not having an update in the last few months. The team have continued with improvements and bugs fixes and I’ve been in ‘rehab’ post a couple of surgeries to fix things that were not working so well. Anyhow, just about on top of things… so here is an update of things that have been going on and things to come!

Improvements

Training Module

  1. Training Master – Change to the tab from “Topic” to “Approved Document’. This enables the linking of a document from Approved Documents that you want persons to be trained in and recorded off within the Training Register. This can work well for Policy Statements, Safe Work Procedures and the likes. Essentially, you can schedule the document as a training and link a CAT to go with it to determine their level of understanding .

This means that any Approved Document in your management system can be linked to a Training Program.

Additionally, anytime the document is updated in the Documentation Module, the link within the Training Master will also update to the most current version.

  1. My Scheduled Training – when a participant clicks on ‘My Scheduled Training’, the linked documents from Documentation > Approved Documents are available for downloading by the participant.

Course Attachments are considered “Other documents / information” etc… that may need to be added on the topic. Use it as it works for you.

Documentation

  • Document Register Filter added for “Category”

Incident Management

  • PPE Requirements – there is now a button for N/A as PPE does not always apply to incidents. Same is available in Sherm Mobile App.

Plant Register

  • Plant Registers – Export PDF is sorts by Plant Name alphabetically

Fixes

  • Some inspections set or ‘reschedule’ were not being rescheduled. Also, remember that the reschedule inspection will come out 1 week prior to the next due date based upon frequency set in schedule.
  • Issues with Updating CAT Master questions and answers. If a CAT is scheduled the user will have the most current version of the CAT prior to undertaking.
  • At the Sherm Vendor Panel, each client has 1 x Primary Admin and 2 x Secondary Admins. The Primary Admin can do all that with a bag of chips and the Secondary Admins can pretty well do same, but their bag of chips is a bit smaller. In terms of Corrective Actions Management though … the Secondary Admins CAN approve and reject corrective actions even across sites that are “Private”.
  • Additionally, these Secondary Admins can delete schedule meetings
  • In People > Human Resources > Site Master – the Site Administrator can manage corrective actions only for the Site
  • Plant Register icon to update a record for service, maintenance etc. was not updating the date after saving the record to the next due to date based upon frequency selected… but it is now!
  • Export various PDF File naming convention updated to remove the .do.pdf and same also for export comments which had convention of .xls in Manage Hazard. If there are any others that you come across, shoot them through so we can fix.

November – Sherm Mobile App

A new User Interface has been designed for the Mobile App.

Safety Data Sheets will be accessible, see below!

Action buttons as such have been made bigger so will be much easier to use.

Here is a little preview of what is to come.

Work in Progress

Risk Register

We have not commenced the Company risk register at this point due to all of the above. The requirements are still to be defined and finalised prior to development. It may take some time due to other pending tasks, but we will get it done this year.

So that’s the wrap for July – October 2019.

I would recommend a review of the Training Masters and update each training (as required) with linking to the Approved Documents and maybe now is the time to look at what procedures should be reviewed by your workers and getting some CATs on go.

Any queries on the above, then please email me.

Please communicate relevant changes to your people and I’ll be back in touch with another update when the Mobile App has been released to the the

Kindest Regards
